Applications

SKAI-Touch: One Platform. Three Applications.

Fast, Portable, AI-Powered Vascular Screening

SKAI-Touch is a portable, AI-powered vascular screening platform that captures arterial blood-flow vibrations through the skin using a proprietary piezoelectric sensor. An AI engine delivers a vascular assessment in approximately 30 seconds — no gel, no specialist, no fixed infrastructure required.

The platform is designed for rapid triage and prevention screening across three distinct clinical applications, each sharing the same core sensor architecture and each addressing a gap that existing tools cannot fill practically or affordably.

Application 1: Stroke Risk Triage

The Problem: Carotid artery plaque is a leading driver of ischemic stroke. It is largely asymptomatic — patients rarely know they are at risk until a stroke has already occurred. Doppler ultrasound is the clinical standard for detection, but it requires trained sonographers, dedicated equipment, and a specialist referral. Most at-risk individuals are never screened.

What SKAI-Touch Does SKAI-Touch screens for carotid plaque presence with a 30-second touch-based assessment at the neck. No gel. No specialist. Clinicians receive a clear output indicating whether follow-up confirmatory Doppler ultrasound is warranted — enabling earlier intervention at the primary care level, before a stroke event occurs.

Clinical Performance Performance In a current dataset of 200+ carotid arteries, the AI model detects plaque presence with 92% sensitivity and 91% specificity, benchmarked against Doppler ultrasound. Ongoing validation studies continue to expand that evidence base.

Application 2: Dialysis AV Fistula Monitoring

The Problem: A functioning AV fistula is essential to effective hemodialysis. Fistula stenosis and failure are common complications — often progressing silently until blood flow is critically compromised. Routine monitoring typically requires imaging referrals that are costly, time-consuming, and often delayed until symptoms appear.

What SKAI-Touch Does SKAI-Touch assesses AV fistula blood flow quickly and non-invasively at the access site, giving dialysis centers a practical tool for routine, session-by-session monitoring. Abnormal flow signals can be flagged early, prompting timely intervention before fistula failure — without specialist referral or additional imaging equipment.

Application 3: Artery Fitness Screening

The Problem: Standard health checks measure cholesterol, blood pressure, and BMI — but none of them tell you how your arteries are actually aging. Arterial stiffness is one of the strongest independent predictors of cardiovascular risk, yet it remains absent from routine wellness and prevention programs because measuring it has historically required specialist equipment and clinical settings.

What SKAI-Touch Does SKAI-Touch measures how the pulse travels through the artery wall — a direct marker of arterial stiffness. That measurement is benchmarked against VO2max levels to produce a concrete vascular fitness score: not an estimate based on birthdate, but a real picture of how old your arteries are actually performing.

For wellness centers, corporate health programs, and prevention-focused clinics, this opens a new category of health insight — available in 30 seconds, without a hospital visit, and without specialist training.

Platform Advantages

All three applications run on the same core platform — making SKAI-Touch a versatile investment for any healthcare or wellness setting.

Touch-based, gel-free workflow —
Measurement through the skin with no consumable gel and no preparation time. Operable with minimal training across a range of clinical and non-clinical environments.

~30-second assessments —
Fast enough for high-throughput screening without disrupting clinical workflows or patient flow.

Single-use disposable sensor —
One sensor per scan supports infection control standards and enables cost-efficient deployment at scale.

Expanding AI capabilities —
As the clinical dataset grows, the AI model strengthens — and additional vascular applications become viable on the same platform architecture.
